Cooler is the eldest son of King Cold and the older brother of Frieza. Having not been born with the same extreme power as his younger brother, Cooler developed an intense sibling rivalry with him, training and ultimately discovering a new transformation to surpass and defeat him. 

Cooler is a self-taught martial arts expert. He is just as capable in hand-to-hand combat as Goku and Vegeta and could even outclass them. Even though he is still proud and arrogant, he is much more pragmatic and cruel. He won’t believe an opponent is dead until he finds their body, destroys the planet quickly when he is outmatched, and doesn’t mind attacking foes who are distracted or unable to fight back.
