A mysterious speedster and serial killer who steals the Speed Force from other speedsters, Godspeed was revealed to be Barry’s friend, August Heart, a fellow detective who was driven to murder his brother’s killer. Being faster than the Flash with a twisted sense of morality, Godspeed poses a dangerous threat to Central City and its peace.

August Heart seemed like a good cop and man, standing by Barry and ensuring he got the care he needed after Barry was initially struck by lightning. The death of his brother, Jorge, is something he has always used to motivate his actions, using it to inspire his police work and catch other career criminals, similar to the one that supposedly got off scott free for killing Jorge. However, these selfless acts of vengeance quickly turn to selfish acts of revenge, once he was struck by lightning, by an unknown speed force storm. He took up the mantle of ‘Godspeed’, swearing to kill the enemies that plague his city, going to any means necessary, such as stealing speed from fellow speedsters, resulting in their deaths.
