Uchida joins a main voice cast that includes Tomoyo Kurosawa as Aya Rindou, Taku Yashiro as Tsugaru Shinuchi, Makoto Koichi as Shizuku Hasei, and Sayumi Suzushiro as Annie Keber.
Additional voice cast members include Shinichirou Miki as Sherlock Holmes, Masaki Aizawa as John H. Watson, Hiro Shimono as Phantom, Mamoru Miyano as Arsene Lupin, Wataru Yokojima as James Moriarty, Tomokazu Sugita as Aleister Crowley, Reina Kondou as Carmilla, Itaru Yamamoto as Victor, and Souma Saitou as Jack the Ripper.
The production team consists of Mamoru Hatakeyama (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) as director, with Noboru Takagi (In/Spectre) as series screenwriter, Noriko Itou (Kakegurui xx sub-character designer) as character designer and chief animation director, Naho Kozono (Shine On! Bakumatsu Bad Boys co-sub-character designer) as sub-character designer and chief animation director, and yuma yamaguchi as music composer. Lapin Track is in charge of the animation production for the anime.
The anime is based on Yuugo Aosaki’s supernatural novels of the same name, which were first published by Kodansha on December 17, 2015, under its Kodansha Taiga label. Three volumes have been released as of April 2021. A manga adaptation by Haruka Tomoyama was also published in Monthly Shounen Sirius on June 25, 2016, before moving to the Comic Days website in 2018. Kodansha USA is releasing the manga in English, with three tankoubon volumes released as of June 2018.
