The Ancient Magus’s Bride Season 2 2nd Cour Announced for October 5, Premiere at Anime Expo 2023

TWIN ENGINE announced after the 12 episode of The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 that a second cour is coming this October 5, 2023 with a new teaser trailer. 

TWIN ENGINE also revealed it would host the world premiere The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 second cour and cosplay contest during the event. Cosplay attendees can participate by filling out a form to win a limited special illustration by chief animation director Kohei Tokuoka. The event is scheduled for July 1 at 3:30 PM PT in Room 408 at the Los Angeles Convention Center featuring chief animation director Kohei Tokuoka, director Kazuaki Terasawa, and animation producer Koichi Naruse

The second season is currently simulcasting on Crunchyroll. Previous staff members from WIT Studio’s first season and Studio Kafka‘s OAD series are returning to work on The Ancient Magus’ Bride season two. The production staff also includes Youko Yonaiyama and Aya Takaha as scriptwriters, Hirotaka Katou as character designer, and Junichi Matsumoto as music composer. 

Other staff members consist of Seiki Tamura as art director, Mayo Suzuki as photography director, and Yuuko Kobari as color designer. Studio Kafka is handling the animation production for the second season. 

The main voice cast features Atsumi Tanezaki as Chise Hatori, Ryouta Takeuchi as Elias Ainsworth, Kouki Uchiyama as Ruth, Aya Endou as Silky, Satoshi Hino as Mikhail Renfred, and Mutsumi Tamura as Alice Swayne. 

New voice cast members include Minami Tsuda as Lucy Webster, Maki Kawase as Philomela Sergeant, Seiichirou Yamashita as Rian Scrimgeour, Daiki Kobayashi as Zoey Ivy, Reina Ueda as Veronica Rickenbacker, and Koutarou Nishiyama as Isaac Farrar. 

Kore Yamazaki’s original manga was serialized in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Blade magazine from November 30, 2013 to July 1, 2014, before moving to Monthly Comic Garden on September 1, 2014. Nineteen tankoubon volumes have been released as of March 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga series in English for North America.
