A final PV trailer has been released for My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999, commemorating the anime’s final episode premiere on June 25, 2023. The 13-episode series first aired on April 2, 2023.
The roughly 3-minute trailer recaps previous scenes from the anime, featuring all of the main characters. Crunchyroll stream the series outside of Japan.
The main voice cast for the anime included Kouki Uchiyama as Akito Yamada, Inori Minase as Akane Kinoshita, Natsuki Hanae as Eita Sasaki, and Ai Kakuma as Runa Sasaki.
Morio Asaka (Chihayafuru) directed the series with Kunihiko Hamada (Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card) as character designer, Yasuhiro Nakanishi (A Couple of Cuckoos) as series screenwriter, and mito (Wonder Egg Priority) and DÉ DÉ MOUSE (Wonder Egg Priority) as music composers. Madhouse handled the animation production for the anime.
Other productions staff included Harue Ohno (Bibliophile Princess) as color designer, Tomoyuki Shimizu (Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom) as art director, and Sakai Junko (Bibliophile Princess) as compositing director.
The anime is based on the manga by Mashiro, which began serialization in ComicSmart’s Ganma! magazine on March 7, 2019. The series is published under Kadokawa’s MFC label and has released seven tankoubon volumes as of April 2023. Media Factory is publishing the manga in print under its MFC imprint.

Recently dumped, Akane is just about to quit the game she used to play with her boyfriend, when she meets Yamada in the same RPG. Yamada in real life turns out to be somewhat of a legend.
