The production team for KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World! has revealed that the upcoming third season is scheduled for release sometime in 2024. A new “ultra” teaser visual featuring Aqua, Megumin, Darkness, and Kazuma has also been released.
Much of the main voice cast are reprising their respective roles for season three, including Jun Fukushima as Kazuya, Sora Amamiya as Aqua, Rie Takahashi as Megumin, and Ai Kayano as Darkness.
The returning production staff consists of Kouichi Kikuta as character designer and Makoto Uezu as series screenwriter. Yuujirou Abe (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Season 1 and Season 2 episode director) is taking over directing duties for the third season, taking over from previous series director Kanasaki Takaomi, who now serves as the chief director.
Konosuba’s first two seasons aired in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Both seasons were produced by Studio Deen, while the 2019 KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World Legend of Crimson anime film is produced by J.C.STAFF. Drive is handling the animation production for the upcoming third season.
The isekai comedy light novel series is written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. The series began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou from December 20, 2012 to October 21, 2013. The light novels are published under the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko label and ran from October 1, 2013 to May 1, 2020 for a total of 17 volumes and two short story anthologies.
The light novel series have also inspired a 2014 manga adaptation by Masahito Watari and several spin-off media, including the recently concluded KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!, which serves as a prequel story focused on Megumin. Several KonoSuba video games have also been released.

After a traffic accident, Kazuma Sato’s disappointingly brief life was supposed to be over, but he wakes up to see a beautiful girl before him. She claims to be a goddess, Aqua, and asks if he would like to go to another world and bring only one thing with him. Kazuma decides to bring the goddess herself, and they are transported to a fantasy world filled with adventure, ruled by a demon king. Now Kazuma only wants to live in peace, but Aqua wants to solve many of this world’s problems, and the demon king will only turn a blind eye for so long…
