Sunblink and Sanrio have announced that a “narrative-driven” Hello Kitty life simulation game, titled Hello Kitty Island Adventure, will launch on July 28 on Apple Arcade.
The premise of the game sees Hello Kitty and her friends heading to the Big Adventures Park after My Melody receives an invitation to open a gift shop there. Alas, the park is discovered to be abandoned, leaving the player, in the form of a “Sanrio-style” avatar, to team up with Hello Kitty to “restore the desolate theme park to its former glory and create the ultimate island paradise!”
“Share gifts, complete quests, and take part in island activities to deepen your bonds,” says a press release for the game. “Spruce up cabins to attract new visitors from among Hello Kitty’s many friends. Create a stylish wardrobe all your own, solve mysterious puzzles, cook delectable recipes, collect friendly critters, and fish, and explore the island solo or with a friend to unearth the many secrets of a massive in-game world.”
Aside from Hello Kitty, players will be able to cross paths with characters like Kuromi, Badtz-Maru, Cinnamoroll, Chococat, and Aggretsuko.
You can check out Hello Kitty Island Adventure‘s various gameplay elements, which includes escaping from a boulder in a minecart and swimming underwater in mermaid form, in the teaser trailer below:
