A new PV trailer has been released for the two-part Collar×Malice -deep cover- anime film, highlighting the film’s second part. Part two will premiere in Japan on June 23, 2023. The first part was released on May 26, 2023.
The anime film is directed by Hiroshi Watanabe (Xuan Yuan Sword Luminary) with Sayaka Harada (Noblesse series screenwriter) as script composer and Yukiko Ban (Yowamushi Pedal: Limit Break) as character designer. Other staff members include Masakazu Miyake (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) as art director, Imari Katsuragi (Sorcerous Stabber Orphen -Chaos in Urbanrama-) as color designer, and Masaru Yokoyama (Tsurune: The Linking Shot) as music composer. Studio Deen is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the voice cast of Collar×Malice -deep cover- features Kaede Hondo as Ichika Hoshino and Katsuyuki Konishi as Mitsuru Sowa. Ichika was previously unvoiced in the original game, while Mitsura is an anime-original character. Other voice actors reprising their roles from the game include Masakazu Morita as Aiji Yanagi, Yuuki Kaji as Kei Okazaki, Souma Saitou as Mineo Enomoto, Daisuke Namikawa as Takeru Sasazuka, and Ryouhei Kimura as Kageyuki Shiraishi.

The Collar x Malice visual novel game was released by Idea Factory for PlayStation Vita in 2016 and for Nintendo Switch in 2020. Aksys Games, the publisher of the game‘s localized Switch version, describes the story as:
As a young police officer, you must save a city under siege! A terrorist organization’s brutal attack has left you fitted with a deadly souvenir – a poisonous collar that could end your life at any moment. With time running out, five strangers offer their help – but which of them can you trust? Will you be able to save your own neck, and the lives of those around you, or will this case end in disaster?
