The Am I Actually the Strongest? anime adaptation has received its second trailer, a new key visual, and a July 1 (effectively July 2 at 2AM JST) Japanese premiere date. The trailer includes a preview of the recently announced opening theme “Reset Life?” by Lezel.
Am I Actually the Strongest? is based on the light novel series written by Sai Sumimori and illustrated by Ai Takahashi. The books began in May 2019 and have five volumes published under the Kodansha K Light Novel Books label as of October 2021.
Kodansha USA describes the plot as:
Reincarnated in an alternate world where magic rules all, a socially reclusive twenty-year-old is determined to build the perfect new life as a shut-in. But unlucky for him, his magical potential is deemed so ridiculously low that his royal parents abandon him immediately after his birth. Left to survive alone in a wild world full of magical dangers, the newborn prince manages to thrive against all odds…because, little does he know, his true magic power is ridiculously off the charts!
Join Haruto, the socially awkward guy who just wants to chill out, as he navigates demon friendships, royal feuds, assassination plots, secret superhero identities, and having a little sister.
Takashi Naoya (Vermeil in Gold) is directing the anime at Staple Entertainment with Matsuo Asami (Vermeil in Gold) as assistant director, Tatsuya Takahashi (Vermeil in Gold) as series composer, and Shouko Yasuda (Wasteful Days of High School Girls) as character designer. The main cast includes Ayumu Murase as Haruto Zenfis, Atsumi Tanezaki as Charlotte Zenfis, and Ayaka Shimizu as Flay.

A manga version of Am I Actually the Strongest?, also by Sumimori and Takahashi, began serialization in April 2019 on Nico Nico Seiga’s Tuesday Sirius. Sumimori originally wrote the story as a web novel, which began publication on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2018.
